Trustpilot reports a bug that keeps upgrading customers from Plus ($20) to Pro ($200) without consent. OpenAI won't acknowledge it or admit fault. Users find it nearly impossible to cancel subscriptions.
After DevDay (Sep 29, 2026) Pro became three tiers: $100, $200 and $500. Pro 200 kept its $200 price but its usage dropped from 20x to 10x Plus and Pro-model chat messages from 200 to 100 per week from Oct 30, 2026; the old allowance now needs the $500 tier.
The Free plan allows roughly 10 messages on the flagship model every 5 hours before silently falling back to a mini model. Uploads, image generation and deep research are also tightly capped, pushing regular users to Go ($8) or Plus ($20).
