Free users can only paraphrase 125 words (700 characters) at a time - extremely restrictive for any real writing project. Summarizer is limited to 1,200 words input. Plagiarism checker is locked behind premium. Users must constantly break text into tiny chunks or pay.
QuillBot has a strict refund policy with only a 3-day money-back window. A long-term user experiencing persistent Word add-in issues with 11 months remaining on annual subscription was refused any prorated refund. Many users feel trapped after the brief trial window.
Some students and individual users feel $99.95/year or $19.95/month is steep for a paraphrasing tool. Users question paying 'almost $100' when free alternatives exist and AI tools like ChatGPT offer more versatility. The value proposition isn't clear to all.
