Slack Huddle Camera Not Working

If your video doesn't show in a huddle, Slack is using the wrong camera or lacks camera permission. Pick the camera in Preferences > Audio & video, allow Slack under your OS camera privacy settings, and plug external cameras in before joining.

How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Select the correct camera
- Preferences > Audio & video
- Choose your camera; you should see yourself in the thumbnail
2. Allow camera access
- Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera > enable Slack
- Windows: Settings > Privacy > Camera > allow apps and turn on Slack
- Chrome: Site settings > Camera > allow your workspace
3. Reconnect and restart
- Plug in external cameras before starting the huddle
- Quit other apps that use the camera
- Quit and reopen Slack, then restart your device
4. Isolate hardware vs Slack
- Test the camera in Slack in Chrome or another calling app
- If it fails everywhere, update video drivers or check the hardware
- If your computer slows down, turn off video or noise suppression
