Asana Slack Integration Not Working
Workaround available Slack, Web Updated October 21, 2026
Quick answer
When Asana stops posting to Slack, the fix is usually re-authorizing or reinstalling the Asana app in Slack and re-linking the project to the channel. Personal notifications are also suppressed while you're active in Asana.
Most likely fix: Check settings in Slack.
Symptoms
Asana notifications stop appearing in Slack, project updates no longer post to a channel, or the integration breaks again a day after setup.
Why it happens
- Expired or revoked Slack authorization
- Project not linked to the channel
- Wrong Asana workspace/domain selected
- Personal notifications muted while you're active in Asana
- Asana-side integration bugs
How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Check settings in Slack
- In Slack, run /asana settings
- Confirm notifications are on and the correct Asana workspace is selected
2. Link the project to the channel
- In the Slack channel, run /asana link and choose the project
- Or connect Slack from the project's Customize > Apps menu in Asana
3. Re-authorize the app
- Deauthorize Asana in Slack, then authorize it again with your Asana account
4. Uninstall and reinstall Asana for Slack
- Remove the Asana app from the Slack workspace (admin)
- Reinstall it and re-link projects
5. Contact Asana support
- Send screenshots and timestamps of missing notifications
