Bubble Not Working? Common Errors & Fixes

Bubble workload units (WU) run out fast when searches, backend workflows or API calls do more server work than needed. Open the workload metrics to find the top activity, add constraints and pagination, then buy a workload tier if usage is legitimate, since tiers are cheaper than $0.30/1K WU overages.

A Bubble app goes offline when it uses all included workload units plus any tier and overages are disabled (always the case on Free). Enable overages or buy a workload tier to bring it back, then reduce usage.

Slow Bubble pages almost always load too much data: repeating groups without pagination, unconstrained searches and many hidden groups. Paginate lists, constrain searches and load elements only when visible; check the status page if the slowdown appeared overnight.

Scheduled API (backend) workflows that never run are most often blocked by a paused scheduler, a search that returns nothing, or an error that silently stops the sequence. Check the scheduler and the server logs for the live version first.

This error means a workflow ran too long or too heavy for the app's capacity, usually while looping over hundreds of records. Split the job into smaller batches, add spacing between iterations, and find the heavy step in the server logs.

When data appears in development but not live, it is usually privacy rules blocking searches or fields, or the data simply isn't in the live database (dev and live are separate). Check privacy rules, copy data to live, and redeploy.

Bubble blocks deploys when your development version is behind live or has merge conflicts. Sync with live, resolve conflicts in favor of development, then revert to a clean save point if needed; fix any issues flagged by the issue checker first.

A Bubble iOS build that never appears in TestFlight is usually waiting on App Store Connect: export compliance info, a missing Push Notifications capability, or tester group setup. Fill in compliance, enable push on the App ID, and re-add testers.

The Free plan allows only 200 database entries combined across development and live. Delete unneeded entries in both databases to get under 200, or upgrade to a paid plan, which removes the limit.
