Pixelmator Pro Generate Image Not Available

Symptoms

The generative AI options are missing or greyed out, even though they appear in Apple's announcements.

Why it happens

• One-time purchase version doesn't include generative tools
• Intel Mac
• macOS older than 26
• Apple Intelligence turned off or unavailable in your region or language

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

1. 1. Check your version

   1. Choose Pixelmator Pro > About Pixelmator Pro and confirm 4.3 or later (Creator Studio build)

2. 2. Check hardware and macOS

   1. Apple menu > About This Mac: confirm an Apple silicon chip and macOS 26 or later

3. 3. Turn on Apple Intelligence

   1. Open System Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri and turn it on
   2. Wait for the models to finish downloading

4. 4. Use alternatives on unsupported Macs

   1. Use the ML tools that work on every version (ML Enhance, Super Resolution, Remove Background) or an external generator
