How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Refresh the command bar

    1. Open the command bar / search
    2. Press Cmd+R (Mac) or Ctrl+R (Windows) to refresh it — ClickUp's suggested workaround for endless loading

  2. 2. Use the global command bar instead of List search

    1. Press Cmd+K / Ctrl+K to open global search
    2. Use filters (location, type) to narrow results

  3. 3. Search by task ID

    1. Copy the task ID from the task's top bar
    2. Paste it into search or the relationship/linking search

  4. 4. Search a distinctive word

    1. Skip brackets and prefixes like [GT]
    2. Type a unique word from the task name

  5. 5. Check subtasks separately

    1. Open the parent task or enable 'Show subtasks' in the List view, since list search may only match parents
