  • Too many ClickUp tabs, open tasks and large lists loaded at once
  • Stale browser cache

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Check ClickUp's status page

    1. Open status.clickup.com
    2. If an incident about performance or loading is listed, wait for it to be resolved — local fixes won't help

  2. 2. Close extra tabs and limit open tasks

    1. Close duplicate ClickUp tabs
    2. Close task windows you're not using
    3. Open smaller Lists or filtered views instead of a whole Space

  3. 3. Hard refresh the app

    1. Press Cmd+R (Mac) or Ctrl+R (Windows) to reload
    2. In the browser, use Cmd+Shift+R / Ctrl+Shift+R to bypass the cache

  4. 4. Clear the browser cache for ClickUp

    1. Open your browser settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data
    2. Clear cached files and site data for app.clickup.com
    3. Log back in

  5. 5. Switch to the desktop app or another browser

    1. Download the desktop app from clickup.com/download
    2. If you use Safari, try Chrome or Edge, which users report run ClickUp more reliably
