NordVPN Not Working? Common Errors & Fixes

Most often antivirus or a firewall is blocking NordVPN, the protocol is blocked on your network, or app settings are corrupted. Try another server and protocol, add NordVPN to your security software's exceptions, then reset the app with the Diagnostics tool.

Netflix has flagged the server's IP address, so you see the proxy error (M7111-5059) or only local titles. Switch to another server in the same country, update the app, clear cached location data and turn off Threat Protection if needed.

Meshnet failures usually come from a device that is asleep or suspended (iOS), duplicate machine IDs on cloned Linux systems, or leftover keychain entries on macOS. Keep the remote device awake, give each device a unique identity and reset Meshnet.

This is the kill switch doing its job. On Windows switch to the app-level/default kill switch mode or turn it off; on Linux run 'nordvpn set killswitch 0', then 'nordvpn disconnect', and reboot to clear leftover firewall rules.

Threat Protection sometimes flags safe sites as dangerous (false positives) or slows some sites and apps. Use the Unblock button on the block page, pause Threat Protection to confirm, add security-software exceptions and try another protocol.
