Reflect Kindle Highlights Not Syncing

Workaround available Chrome (Mac, Windows) Updated October 21, 2026

Quick answer

Reflect's Kindle sync runs through its Chrome extension every five hours and works only with US Amazon stores. If highlights don't arrive, make sure the extension is installed and you're logged in to Amazon in Chrome. Users report that reinstalling the extension fixed it.

Most likely fix: Check you're on Amazon US.

Symptoms

New Kindle books or highlights don't appear as #book notes in Reflect, or nothing has synced since you set it up.

Why it happens

  • Your Amazon account isn't on the US store (only US is supported)
  • Chrome is logged out of Amazon
  • The Reflect Chrome extension isn't installed or is outdated
  • Sync only runs every five hours
  • Highlights come from Apple Books or other services, which aren't supported

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Check you're on Amazon US

    1. Reflect can only sync highlights from US-based Amazon stores
    2. Other regions aren't supported because Amazon has no API
  2. 2. Reinstall the Reflect Chrome extension

    1. Remove the Reflect extension from Chrome
    2. Reinstall it from reflect.app/extension
    3. Log in to Amazon when prompted
  3. 3. Stay logged in to Amazon in Chrome

    1. Open read.amazon.com/notebook in Chrome and sign in
    2. Check your highlights appear there
    3. Leave Chrome open and wait for the next five-hour sync
