Adobe XD Not Working? Common Errors & Fixes

XD fails to start on Windows with error 5718, 5719 or 5703. A clean reinstall (quit Creative Cloud, clear temp files, delete the leftover XD folder, repair Creative Cloud) fixes it for most users; signing out of Windows and back in fixes 5719 for some.

A cloud document hangs on 'Syncing' or 'Waiting for sync' and won't open or save. Fully sign out of XD and Creative Cloud, kill CoreSync, reboot and relaunch XD from the Creative Cloud app; make sure every co-editor runs the latest XD.

Cloud documents fail to open, save, or vanish from the XD home screen, often with error codes like 3625, 3634 or 2143. Adobe's fix order: restart XD, update the Creative Cloud app, close Adobe processes, and check you're signed in with the same Adobe ID everywhere.

XD quits immediately after opening, usually after a macOS upgrade. Adobe's fix is a clean reinstall through the Creative Cloud app; because XD is in maintenance mode, newer macOS versions may never get a dedicated fix.

XD flags fonts as missing even when they're installed. Close XD, activate the font in Adobe Fonts (or install it in the OS, not just a font manager), then reopen XD; a full Adobe sign-out and reboot fixes stubborn cases.

Shared prototype or design-spec links show 'Something went wrong' or fail to publish with codes like 2401 or 44:23. Usually an Adobe-side outage; check Adobe's status page, then update the link, try another browser or network, and update XD.

Exports fail when the target folder already has a file with that name, the folder is read-only, the asset is larger than 16,000 x 16,000 px, or the selection contains invalid objects (empty text, sub-1px paths). Fix the cause or export from a fresh file.

The Plugins panel is blank, installed plugins don't show, or Marketplace won't open. Update XD and Creative Cloud, restart and wait for Creative Cloud to load before opening XD; check permissions on the Adobe Application Support folder.

XD is missing from the Creative Cloud app because Adobe no longer offers it to new subscribers. Existing users should sign in with the Adobe ID that had XD, wait up to 72 hours after a plan change, and check 'More apps from Adobe' on adobe.com.

Figma can't open .xd files directly. Install the original fonts, then use the Convertify plugin to import the .xd file into a new page; SVG export is a free fallback but loses effects, pages and prototype links.
