Bitwarden Android Autofill Not Working

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Set Bitwarden as the autofill service

    1. Open the Bitwarden app > Settings > Autofill
    2. Tap Autofill services and choose Bitwarden as the preferred service for passwords, passkeys and autofill

  2. 2. Switch suggestion display mode

    1. In Bitwarden go to Settings > Autofill > Display autofill suggestions
    2. Try Inline (keyboard) first; if nothing appears, choose Popup
    3. Inline requires Android 11+ and a keyboard that supports it, such as Gboard

  3. 3. Enable browser integration for Chrome or Brave

    1. In Bitwarden Settings > Autofill, turn on the integration toggle for your browser
    2. In Chrome (version 135+) open Settings > Autofill services and choose 'Autofill using another service'
    3. Restart the browser

  4. 4. Use accessibility tiles as a fallback

    1. In Bitwarden Settings > Autofill toggle 'Use accessibility'
    2. Enable Bitwarden in the Android Accessibility menu
    3. Add the Bitwarden tiles to the notification shade (not available with Android 17 Advanced Protection)
