KineMaster Can't Edit or Export 4K Video
Ongoing Android, iOS Updated October 21, 2026
Quick answer
KineMaster supports 4K/2160p only on devices whose hardware can decode it. If yours can't, it offers to re-encode 4K clips at 1440p or 1080p.
Most likely fix: Check the device's 4K capability.
Symptoms
4K clips import at lower resolution or prompt to re-encode, or 4K isn't available as an export option.
Why it happens
- Device hardware can record 4K but not decode/encode it for editing
- Too many layers for 4K on that device
How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Check the device's 4K capability
- Settings > Device Capability Information
- Run Analysis Now to re-detect capability after closing other apps
2. Re-encode 4K clips to 1440p or 1080p
- Accept KineMaster's re-encode prompt when adding the clip
- Edit and export at that resolution
3. Reduce layers
- Remove or flatten extra video layers so the project fits the device's limit
