KineMaster Video Format Not Supported

Quick answer
KineMaster only imports MP4, MOV and 3GP with H.264/H.265 video and AAC/PCM audio, and only within what your phone can decode. Transcode the clip to a supported format and resolution.
Most likely fix: Use KineMaster's transcode option.
Symptoms
A video is greyed out, can't be added, shows 'not supported', or imports but plays incorrectly.
Why it happens
- Unsupported container or codec (e.g. not MP4/MOV/3GP, not H.264/H.265)
- Resolution, profile or frame rate above the device's decoding capability
- Footage from DSLRs, drones or other phones
- Screen recordings with unusual encoding
How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Use KineMaster's transcode option
- Select the clip in the media browser or timeline
- Choose the transcode/re-encode option and pick a resolution your device supports
- Use the new copy in your project
2. Check your device's maximum resolution
- Settings > Device Capability Information
- Make sure clips aren't above the listed resolution
3. Convert the file elsewhere
- Convert to MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio using a video converter
- Import the converted file
