Craft Image or File Upload Failed

Workaround available All platforms Updated October 21, 2026

Quick answer

Craft retries an upload three times and then gives up. Check the connection and any VPN/ad blocker, then re-add the file; on the free plan files over 25 MB will always fail (Plus allows 5 GB).

Most likely fix: Check file size and plan.

Symptoms

Images or files show a failed or stuck upload, or shared photos from iOS turn into unusable links.

Why it happens

  • File bigger than the plan limit (25 MB free, 5 GB Plus)
  • Network drop, VPN, proxy or ad blocker
  • Sharing photos into Craft from the iOS share sheet
  • Free plan 1 GB storage full

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Check file size and plan

    1. Free: 25 MB per file and 1 GB total
    2. Plus/Family/Team: 5 GB per file
    3. Compress the file or upgrade
  2. 2. Fix the network

    1. Disable VPN, proxy or ad blocker
    2. Re-add the file once online
  3. 3. Add files on iOS the reliable way

    1. Save the photo/file to the device first
    2. In Craft tap + > Files and pick it
