Jira Not Loading: Blank Page or Spinning Board
Workaround available Web Updated October 21, 2026
Quick answer
A blank Jira page or endlessly spinning board is usually caused by a browser extension, stale cache/cookies or an Atlassian incident. Test in a private window with extensions off and hard-refresh.
Most likely fix: Open Jira in a private window.
Symptoms
Issue pages or dashboards render blank, boards keep spinning, only part of a board loads, or it works in one browser but not another.
Why it happens
- Browser extensions (ad blockers, monitoring/RUM extensions) breaking scripts
- Stale cache or cookies
- Browser-specific bugs (reported in Firefox after UI updates)
- Atlassian Cloud incident
- Data Center: broken announcement banner HTML or incompatible app after upgrade
How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Open Jira in a private window
- Open an incognito/private window with all extensions disabled
- Load the same page; if it works, re-enable extensions one by one to find the culprit
2. Hard refresh and clear site data
- Press Ctrl+F5 (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac)
- Clear cache and cookies for your *.atlassian.net site
- Sign in again
3. Try another browser and check status
- Load the page in Chrome or Edge if Firefox fails (and vice versa)
- Check status.atlassian.com for an incident
4. Collect errors for support
- Open DevTools (F12) > Console and Network tabs
- Reload and note red errors or failed requests
- Send them with your browser version to Atlassian Support
