Krisp Not Working? Common Errors & Fixes

Krisp Microphone is a virtual device that only exists while the Krisp app is running. Start Krisp, then fully restart the meeting app and select Krisp Microphone in its audio settings.

Discord's built-in Krisp turns itself off when the CPU is overloaded and is missing in the browser version. Re-enable it in Voice & Video, close heavy apps, and use the desktop app.

Heavy noise suppression can eat parts of your voice. Switch to a lighter noise cancellation mode, stop stacking two noise suppressors, and make sure Krisp is processing the right mic.

Usually the call app is not using Krisp Microphone, Krisp's mic source is wrong, or Krisp's audio stalls after a while. Re-select the devices; if it stops after 15-30 minutes, restart the meeting app.

Krisp supports Bluetooth, but the headset switches to mono and Krisp caps speaker audio at 16 kHz while the mic is active. Select the headset inside Krisp and use Krisp devices in the call app; on Windows use the Hands-Free AG Audio device.

Users report Krisp using ~1.4 GB of RAM even on standby and heavy load during Teams screen sharing. Turn off the note taker if you don't need it, use the Balanced mode, and quit Krisp between calls.

Notes are only created if Krisp actually captured the meeting audio. Check Automatic Activation for the note taker, make sure the call app uses Krisp Microphone/Speaker, and start recording manually for important meetings.

Krisp installs virtual audio drivers and relaunches at login, so dragging it to the Trash isn't enough. Quit it, run the Krisp Uninstaller (Mac) or remove it in Windows Apps, then restart.

Krisp's 'cancel' button is called Downgrade, and annual plans renew without a reminder. Downgrade in Settings > Billing before the renewal date and email support@krisp.ai right away about unexpected charges.

Echo comes from your speakers leaking into your mic. Select Krisp Speaker as the output in your call app and turn on Krisp's echo cancellation, or wear headphones.
