Krisp Microphone or Krisp Speaker is missing from the mic/speaker list in Zoom, Teams, Meet or another app, or the app keeps falling back to the built-in mic.

  • Krisp app is not running or crashed
  • Meeting app was opened before Krisp and has not refreshed its device list
  • Krisp is not enabled for that specific app
  • OS microphone permission blocked for Krisp or the meeting app

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Make sure Krisp is running

    1. Look for the Krisp icon in the system tray (Windows, bottom-right) or menu bar (Mac, top-right)
    2. If it is missing, launch Krisp from Start menu or Applications
    3. Sign in if prompted

  2. 2. Restart the meeting app

    1. Fully quit Zoom/Teams (right-click tray icon > Quit, not just close the window)
    2. Reopen it after Krisp is running
    3. Open Settings > Audio (Zoom) or Settings > Devices (Teams) and choose Krisp Microphone and Krisp Speaker

  3. 3. Check Krisp's per-app settings

    1. Open the Krisp panel > Settings
    2. Confirm the app you are using is allowed to use Krisp devices
    3. Restart that app

  4. 4. Allow microphone access

    1. Windows: Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone > turn on 'Let desktop apps access your microphone'
    2. Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone > enable Krisp and your meeting app
    3. Restart Krisp afterwards

  5. 5. Update Krisp

    1. Open Krisp > Settings > About/Check for updates
    2. Install the latest version and restart the computer if the audio driver was updated
