VSCO Error Contacting Server
Workaround available iOS, Android Updated October 21, 2026
Quick answer
'Error contacting server' or 'expired token' means your VSCO login session is broken. Sign out and back in; if it keeps happening, update the app and contact support.
Most likely fix: Sign out and back in.
Symptoms
VSCO shows 'error contacting server' or 'expired token' and feed, profile or membership won't load.
Why it happens
- Expired login session (token)
- Outdated app version (an Android login bug was fixed in version 480.1)
- Network or VPN problems
How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Sign out and back in
- Open the Global Menu > Settings
- Tap Sign Out
- Sign in again with the same method you used to create the account
2. Update the app
- Update VSCO from the App Store or Google Play (Android users need 480.1 or newer)
- Turn off any VPN and retry on another network
3. Contact support
- If it persists, open a ticket from Settings > Support with a screenshot of the error
