How to Export Passwords From Dashlane
Workaround available Web app (all desktop browsers) Updated October 21, 2026
Quick answer
In the Dashlane web app go to Settings > Export data, enter your master password and choose CSV. You get a ZIP of unencrypted CSV files; use the encrypted DASH format if you just want a backup.
Most likely fix: Export to CSV for switching.
Symptoms
You want to move to another password manager or keep a backup but can't find the export option.
Why it happens
- Export lives in the web app settings, not the mobile apps
- Business plan admins can restrict exports
How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Export to CSV for switching
- Open the Dashlane web app and go to Settings
- Select 'Export data' and enter your master password
- Choose CSV; a file named dashlane-credential-export.zip downloads
- Import it into Bitwarden, Proton Pass, 1Password or NordPass, then delete the file
2. Export an encrypted DASH backup
- In Export data choose the DASH format
- Create a password for the file
- Store it safely; only someone with that password can open it
3. Business plans: ask your admin
- If export is missing or partial, your admin may have restricted it
- Ask them to allow export of your personal items
