Logging in on a new device asks for an emailed code that never arrives, or you're asked for a 6-digit token you don't have.

Why it happens

  • Code sent to the contact email, which differs from the login email
  • Email filtered to spam or another folder
  • 2FA enabled, so Dashlane expects an authenticator app token instead of an email
  • Outdated app or extension, or a browser issue

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Check the right inbox and resend

    1. Check your contact email address, including spam and other folders
    2. Go back to the Dashlane login page and refresh it
    3. Select 'Resend code'

  2. 2. Allow Dashlane's emails

    1. Add Dashlane's no-reply and support addresses to your contacts
    2. Log in again to trigger a new code

  3. 3. Use a QR code from another device

    1. If you're logged in on another phone or tablet, choose the QR code login option
    2. Scan it with the logged-in device

  4. 4. Use your authenticator app if 2FA is on

    1. If asked for a 6-digit token, open your authenticator app
    2. Enter the current Dashlane code; emails are not sent when 2FA is on

  5. 5. Try another browser or update

    1. Update the Dashlane app or extension
    2. If you use a Chromium browser, try logging in from Firefox

  6. 6. Change the contact email

    1. If you no longer have access to the contact inbox, change your contact email from a logged-in device
