LumaFusion Not Compatible With Chromebook or Android Device
Workaround available Android, ChromeOS Updated October 21, 2026
Quick answer
LumaFusion for Android/ChromeOS needs at least 3 GB of RAM and Android 10 or newer. If your Chromebook runs Android 9 or lower, it won't install unless a newer ChromeOS channel brings Android 10+.
Most likely fix: Check your Android version on ChromeOS.
Symptoms
Google Play says LumaFusion isn't compatible with your Chromebook, even though it installed on your Android phone.
Why it happens
- Device has less than 3 GB RAM
- Chromebook's Android subsystem is version 9 or lower
How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Check your Android version on ChromeOS
- Open Settings > Apps > Google Play Store
- Tap Manage Android Devices, then About Device (or System > About device)
- Confirm Android 10 or higher
2. Switch ChromeOS channel (at your own risk)
- Settings > About ChromeOS > Additional details > Change channel > Beta
- Restart and recheck the Android version
- Note: going back to Stable requires a Powerwash and can lose data
3. Use the same Play account
- Sign in with the Google account that bought LumaFusion to install on other devices without paying again
