The 11 Snapseed problems users hit most often, why they happen, and the fixes that actually work — collected from user reports, forums, and official support docs.
Snapseed Not Saving Photos
Workaround availableiOS, AndroidIf Snapseed won't save, it usually lacks full access to your photos or saved the edit somewhere you didn't expect. Give it full Photos/storage access, use Export for a normal JPEG, and check the Snapseed album (DCIM/Snapseed on Android).
Snapseed Keeps Crashing or Freezing
OngoingiOS, iPadOS, AndroidSnapseed crashes and freezes are mostly triggered by large or RAW photos and low free memory. Update to the latest 4.x version, restart the phone, clear the cache on Android, and reinstall if it still freezes.
Snapseed RAW Photo Not Opening or Stuck Loading
Workaround availableiOS, iPadOS, AndroidRAW files that spin forever or fail with 'Couldn't load photo' usually mean an older Snapseed build or an unsupported RAW format. Update to Snapseed 4.1 or later, open the DNG through a file manager, and restart the phone before retrying.
Snapseed Unable to Open Photos
Workaround availableiOS, AndroidWhen Snapseed can't open or see your photos, it is almost always a permission problem on iOS or a storage app Snapseed can't read on Android. Grant full photo access, or save the photo to internal storage first.
Snapseed Edits Not Showing on Computer or Other Apps
Workaround availableiOS, AndroidPhotos saved with Save or Save a copy keep Snapseed's non-destructive edit stack, which apps like Lightroom, Image Capture and iPhoto can't read, so they show the unedited original. Use Export to create a flattened JPEG.
Snapseed Tools and Filters Missing From Image
Workaround availableiOS, AndroidEdits that disappear mid-session are usually hidden, not lost: in the edit history (Stacks) they are grayed out. Open the history and tap the top-most edit to bring them back.
Snapseed Healing Tool Not Working
Workaround availableiOS, AndroidWhen Healing does nothing or leaves smudges, the area is usually too large or the app is struggling with memory. Zoom in, heal small spots one at a time, and restart or update Snapseed if the brush stops responding.
Snapseed Reduces Photo Resolution or Quality
OngoingiOS, AndroidSnapseed saves at the original resolution only up to what the device can process: about 20 MP on most phones and 8-10 MP on some older ones. Photos from 48 MP+ cameras come out smaller; check the export size and format options and keep the original.
Snapseed Removes Location Data From Photos
Workaround availableiOS, iPadOSOn iPhone, Snapseed can only copy location and other metadata into the edited photo when it is allowed to use Location Services. Turn Location Services on for Snapseed and edit the photo again.
Snapseed Not Updating on Google Play
Workaround availableAndroidIf Google Play keeps offering an old Snapseed (or you still don't have the 4.x redesign), the update may still be rolling out or Play Store data is stale. Clear Google Play Store data, restart and check again.
Snapseed Can't Zoom in Selective, Lens Blur or Vignette
Workaround availableiOS, AndroidIn Selective, Lens Blur and Vignette, pinching resizes the effect while the control point is blue. Tap elsewhere on the image so the dot turns gray, then pinch to zoom.
