Snapseed Tools and Filters Missing From Image
Workaround available iOS, Android Updated October 21, 2026
Quick answer
Edits that disappear mid-session are usually hidden, not lost: in the edit history (Stacks) they are grayed out. Open the history and tap the top-most edit to bring them back.
Most likely fix: Restore edits from the edit history.
Symptoms
Tools or filters you applied earlier no longer show on the photo, and the image looks like an earlier stage of the edit.
Why it happens
- You tapped an earlier step in the edit history (Stacks), which hides the later edits
- Undo was used several times
How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Restore edits from the edit history
- Open the edit history / Stacks view
- Look for grayed-out edits on the list
- Tap the top-most edit to reapply everything
- Close the history and continue editing
2. Use redo inside the tool
- In Snapseed 4.1+, use the in-tool redo button to bring back an undone change
This guide also covers
