VN Video Editor Keeps Crashing

Symptoms

VN closes suddenly when you add a filter, music or a cut, when importing files, or when opening a specific project.

Why it happens

• Bug in the current app version
• Not enough RAM for many layers or 4K clips
• Low storage
• A corrupted clip or audio file in the project
• Overheating during long sessions

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

1. 1. Update VN

   1. Open the App Store or Google Play, search VN and install any update

2. 2. Restart and free memory

   1. Close background apps
   2. Restart the phone
   3. Free storage space

3. 3. Simplify the project

   1. Reduce the number of layers and effects
   2. Replace 4K clips with 1080p versions where possible

4. 4. Find the problem element

   1. Duplicate the project
   2. Remove the last added filter, clip or music in the copy and test
   3. Re-add it or use a different file format (MP3, WAV or AAC for audio)

5. 5. Clear cache on Android

   1. Settings > Apps > VN > Storage > Clear cache (not Clear data, which can remove projects)

6. 6. Report it with Feedback

   1. In VN open Settings > Feedback and describe the crash
   2. Or email vn.support@ui.com
