VN Project Stuck on Processing and Won't Open
Ongoing iOS, Android Updated October 21, 2026
Quick answer
When a VN project hangs on the processing screen (often at 50%) it's usually a heavy or broken clip or low memory. Restart the phone, free storage, update VN and check the project's source clips are still on the device.
Most likely fix: Restart and free storage.
Symptoms
Tapping a project shows a processing screen that stops partway and never opens, or the app crashes when opening it.
Why it happens
- Source clips moved, deleted or only in the cloud
- Low storage or memory
- Very large project
- App version bug
How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Restart and free storage
- Close VN, restart the phone and free several GB
- Open the project again
2. Make sure source media is on the device
- Check that original clips still exist in your gallery or files
- Download any cloud-only clips to the device
3. Update VN
- Install the latest version from the App Store or Google Play
4. Ask support before reinstalling
- Reinstalling did not help users with this issue and can delete local projects
- Send Settings > Feedback with the project details instead
