Box Drive Not Showing in Finder on Mac

Quick answer
On current macOS, Box Drive runs as a File Provider extension. It appears under Locations in Finder's sidebar at ~/Library/CloudStorage/Box-Box, not as a Box folder on the Desktop or in your home folder. Add it back to Favorites or reset Box Drive if it's missing entirely.
Most likely fix: Look under Locations.
Symptoms
The Box folder disappeared from the Desktop or Favorites, the ~/Box path no longer works, or Box isn't visible in Finder at all after an update.
Why it happens
- Box Drive moved to Apple's File Provider mode, which changes the location to ~/Library/CloudStorage/Box-Box
- Finder sidebar settings hiding cloud storage locations
- Box Drive not running or its File Provider domain broken
How to fix it
Try these in order — the most common fix is first.
1. Look under Locations
- Open Finder and check the Locations section of the sidebar for Box
- Or press Cmd+Shift+G and go to ~/Library/CloudStorage/Box-Box
2. Add Box back to Favorites or the Desktop
- Drag the Box-Box folder from Locations into Favorites
- Or select it and choose File > Make Alias, then move the alias to the Desktop
3. Show cloud storage in the sidebar
- Finder > Settings > Sidebar and make sure cloud storage items are enabled
4. Update paths in apps and scripts
- Point shortcuts, scripts and app settings that used ~/Box to ~/Library/CloudStorage/Box-Box
5. Reset Box Drive if Box is missing entirely
- Quit Box Drive, run the Box Reset Tool, then reopen Box Drive and sign in
