Acuity Reminder Emails Not Sending

Workaround available Web Updated October 21, 2026

Quick answer

If one client stops getting reminders, they likely marked an Acuity email as spam - Acuity then blocks all future emails to them until support removes the block. If nobody gets them, check that reminders are active for the appointment type.

Most likely fix: Check the appointment type's notifications.

Symptoms

Clients say they never received reminder or confirmation emails, while others receive them fine.

Why it happens

  • Client marked an Acuity email as spam, adding them to a blocked list
  • Notifications disabled for that appointment type
  • Reminder set too close to the appointment (minimum is 1 hour)
  • Confirmation skipped when staff booked manually (reminders still send)

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Check the appointment type's notifications

    1. Open the client email settings for reminders
    2. Make sure reminders aren't disabled for the affected appointment type
  2. 2. Ask support to unblock a spam-flagged client

    1. Contact Acuity Customer Support with the client's email
    2. Ask them to remove the address from the blocked list
    3. Have the client whitelist the sender
  3. 3. Check reminder timing

    1. Set the reminder at least 1 hour before the appointment
    2. Book a test appointment with your own email to confirm delivery
