LastPass Not Working? Common Errors & Fixes

Usually autofill is turned off in the extension, the site is on the Never Autofill list, the extension is logged out, or a browser update broke it. Check the setting, then update or reinstall the extension.

The extension logs out when the browser clears cookies on exit, when 'Share login state between browsers' misbehaves, or when auto-logout timers are on. Fix those three settings first.

First rule out typos, Caps Lock and the wrong account email. If the password really is lost, use account recovery from a computer where you used the extension before, or revert a change made in the last 30 days. LastPass cannot reset it for you.

If your master password is accepted but the vault spins forever or closes, clear LastPass's local data from 'Fix a problem yourself', then update or reinstall the extension and disable conflicting extensions.

Exporting from the web vault often produces an empty file. Export from the browser extension instead (Account > Fix a problem yourself > Export vault items), or try a different browser.

Make sure LastPass is the selected Android autofill service and its accessibility service is on, then update the app; LastPass shipped fixes for the accessibility autofill bug in versions 4.5.2555 and 4.5.2600.

LastPass must be enabled as an AutoFill provider in iOS Settings. Turn off iCloud Keychain as the only provider, re-toggle LastPass, and update the app; if it still fails, contact LastPass support.

If LastPass keeps asking you to reset or re-verify MFA and won't let you into the vault, use the 'lost your authenticator' email flow to disable MFA, then re-enrol it once you're logged in.

LastPass Free only works on one device type, computers or mobile. If it stopped working on your phone or PC, that's the restriction, not a bug. Switch your active type (limited number of times), upgrade to Premium, or move to a manager with a free cross-device plan.

Turn off auto-renewal in your LastPass account settings, or in the App Store / Google Play if you subscribed there. Personal payments are treated as non-refundable, but contacting billing soon after a renewal sometimes gets it reversed.
