LastPass Autofill Not Working on iPhone

Ongoing iOS, iPadOS, Safari on Mac Updated October 21, 2026

Quick answer

LastPass must be enabled as an AutoFill provider in iOS Settings. Turn off iCloud Keychain as the only provider, re-toggle LastPass, and update the app; if it still fails, contact LastPass support.

Most likely fix: Enable LastPass as AutoFill provider.

Symptoms

No LastPass suggestion above the keyboard in apps or Safari, or the 'Passwords' key opens Keychain instead of LastPass. Safari's extension icon may turn blue and stop filling after an update.

Why it happens

  • LastPass not enabled as an AutoFill provider
  • iOS update reset AutoFill settings
  • Outdated LastPass app or Safari extension
  • App login screen not recognised

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Enable LastPass as AutoFill provider

    1. Open Settings > General > AutoFill & Passwords (on older iOS: Settings > Passwords > Password Options)
    2. Turn on AutoFill Passwords and select LastPass
    3. Optionally turn off iCloud Keychain so LastPass is offered first
  2. 2. Toggle the provider off and on

    1. In the same AutoFill screen, turn LastPass off
    2. Restart the iPhone
    3. Turn LastPass back on and unlock the LastPass app once
  3. 3. Update app and Safari extension

    1. Update LastPass from the App Store
    2. On Mac Safari, update the extension and re-enable it in Safari > Settings > Extensions
  4. 4. Fill manually as a fallback

    1. Tap the key icon above the keyboard and choose LastPass
    2. Search for the entry and tap it to fill
