LastPass Vault Not Loading

Workaround available Chrome, Edge, Firefox Updated October 21, 2026

Quick answer

If your master password is accepted but the vault spins forever or closes, clear LastPass's local data from 'Fix a problem yourself', then update or reinstall the extension and disable conflicting extensions.

Most likely fix: Clear local data.

Symptoms

After login the vault shows a spinning wheel, a blank page, logs you straight out, or the Vault button does nothing. Launching sites from the vault may also stop working.

Why it happens

  • Corrupted local extension data or cache
  • Outdated extension
  • Conflicting extensions (VPN, ad blockers, other password managers)
  • LastPass server-side incident

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Clear local data

    1. Click the LastPass extension > Account options > Fix a problem yourself
    2. Choose Clear local cache / clear local data
    3. Log out and back in
  2. 2. Refresh the vault

    1. In 'Fix a problem yourself', select 'Refresh your vault'
    2. If the problem returns after restarting the browser, move on to reinstalling
  3. 3. Reinstall the extension

    1. Remove the LastPass extension
    2. Clear browser cookies and cache
    3. Install the latest version and log in
  4. 4. Disable conflicting extensions

    1. Turn off VPN extensions, ad blockers and other password managers
    2. Reload the vault
  5. 5. Try incognito or another browser and check status

    1. Log in at lastpass.com in an incognito window or a different browser
    2. Check status.lastpass.com for an ongoing incident
