Keeper Autofill Not Working

Workaround available Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera, Brave Updated October 21, 2026

Quick answer

Keeper usually fails to autofill because the record has no matching website address, the browser's built-in password manager is interfering, or the site uses a non-standard login form. Add the URL to the record, disable the browser's password manager, and report the page with Keeper's Snapshot tool.

Most likely fix: Add the correct website address to the record.

Symptoms

No KeeperFill icon or prompt in login fields, the record shows in the extension but nothing fills, only the password fills, or the username field is skipped.

Why it happens

  • Record has no website address, or it doesn't match the login page
  • Browser's built-in password manager conflicts with KeeperFill
  • Extension is logged out or locked
  • Single-page apps, multi-step or iframe login forms
  • Corrupted extension cache after an update

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Add the correct website address to the record

    1. Open the record in the Keeper Web Vault or extension
    2. Enter the address of the actual sign-in page in the Website Address field
    3. Save and reload the login page
  2. 2. Disable your browser's built-in password manager

    1. Open the Keeper extension and go to Settings
    2. Set Keeper as the default password manager / toggle 'Disable Built-in Password Manager' on
    3. If the browser asks for permission after an update, click 'Turn on' or 'Accept permissions'
  3. 3. Fill manually from the toolbar

    1. Click the Keeper icon in the browser toolbar
    2. Pick the record under Suggested Records
    3. Click Autofill
  4. 4. Turn on KeeperAI Autofill

    1. Open the extension Settings
    2. Select KeeperAI Autofill and toggle it on
    3. Reload the page and try again (business admins may restrict this)
  5. 5. Report the site with the Snapshot tool

    1. On the login page, open the extension's overflow menu (or the fill tool's menu)
    2. Choose Report an Autofill Issue > Take Snapshot
    3. Review the preview, pick the issue type and click Report Issue; Keeper emails you when a fix ships
  6. 6. Clear the extension's storage

    1. Open your browser's Extensions page and select Keeper Password Manager & Digital Vault
    2. Click Extension options
    3. Clear local storage, IndexedDB storage, or all storage, then log in again
