Keeper Offline Mode Not Working

Quick answer

Offline access is off by default and must be enabled in Settings > Security, and the device must log in online once so it holds a local copy. It isn't available on Keeper Free and admins can disable it.

Most likely fix: Enable offline access.

Symptoms

Keeper says you need a connection, there's no 'Work Offline' option, or offline login fails with network errors.

Why it happens

  • Allow Offline Access not enabled
  • Device never logged in online to cache the vault
  • Keeper Free plan (no offline access)
  • Enterprise admin disabled offline mode
  • Web Vault not loaded from its direct login URL
  • Unstable connection confusing the app

How to fix it

Try these in order — the most common fix is first.

  1. 1. Enable offline access

    1. Web Vault / Desktop: click your email > Settings > Security > Allow Offline Access
    2. Re-authenticate and choose a duration (Always, 30, 14, 7 or 1 day)
    3. Android/iOS: Settings > Allow Offline Access, choose a duration and re-authenticate

  2. 2. Prime the device online first

    1. Log in once with an internet connection
    2. Confirm the lightning-bolt 'Available Offline' indicator appears

  3. 3. Turn the network fully off

    1. If you get network errors, switch Wi-Fi/data completely off and log in again
    2. On Web/Desktop click Work Offline in the lower right corner

  4. 4. Load the Web Vault directly

    1. Open the vault login page directly instead of going through the Keeper website first

  5. 5. SSO users: set a master password

    1. In vault Settings click Setup next to Master Password
    2. When SSO is down, click Work Offline and choose Master Password
    3. If the option is missing, ask your admin to enable it
